Ra'ufa Obeid From Al-Shate' Camp, Gaza: I wish to be a doctor or an engineer

Miracle: Blind girl can see now after 17 years of darkness... Doctors couldn't help her but Allah volition lighten the way for her.... Ra'ufa Suheil Obeid, 17 years old with a preferred nickname (Fifi) Ra'ufa expresses about her unlimited joy, thrill and happiness she said "I screamed, I yelled calling my mum" finally I can see my reflection over the mirror, my mother cried and called my uncle and all the close relatives they all shared the happiness and joy with us we all shed the tears of joy and gratitude to Allah for this miracle.

My Miracle in details

   Jerusalem Magazine interview Ra'ufa to receive the details of her story. Ra'ufa start narrating her story she says" while I was washing my hair, suddenly my head hit by the sink correcting my position I get a closer look over the mirror I was so shocked because finally I saw my face over the mirror I saw everything I can see I said I lost control I went so crazy yelling calling all the people, my mum, father, my friends I can see you all… after that I decided to go and visit a doctor the make a regular amazingly saying she is a normal she can see and my sight is so perfect and I don’t even need a sunglass and I can drive a car!!

Independency

   The most important thing to Ra'ufa is the taste of independency she has the will and great opportunity to continue her high school, select her career job, in addition her insistence to help other blind people because she has been trough this situation, before she been healed.

Talents and Artistic skills

   Ra'ufa is a very talented girl she expresses her self through paintings. Being a blind never prevented her from achieving her dream of making the 1st exhibition. That was so perfectly create, imaginative Ra'ufa says that she rely on her imaginations and senses, by touching and selecting the perfect colors.


School period

   Ra'ufa said that her educational process wasn’t easy, although the care and the full attention of the teachers but the weight of the books, students envision towards her. She used to concentrate and hear everything to memorize it.

Obstacles
   The blindness was a major reason that prevents her from choosing the scientific branch her dream of being a doctor or engineering was dream hard to be achieved due her blindness. Her status prevents her from attending the scientific branch, but now nothing will stop her from achieving her dream.

Unlimited Joy

   Al-Quds newspaper has the opportunity to meet with Ra'ufa's Mother. The thrill, joy and happiness the tears of happiness were she couldn’t control her self the moment Ra'ufa told her that she can see she runs to call the relatives and neighbors she preserved candies chocolates to the kids and all the relatives.

How to treat the Handicapped

   Ra'ufa massage to all the people in the world is " to be compassionate with the blind kids, neighbors or any person because blind people go through a lot of obstacles in their lives so the less thing we can do therefore people should give the blind all help and support they can do to make them more confident and productive to this society.

Father's reaction

   Ra'ufa's father says that he tried all the best to treat his daughter, he send her abroad for treatment but the answer was so clear all the doctors agreed on one thing that Ra'ufa's condition is hard to be cured, and they can do nothing asking her to accept her condition to be blind.

Ra'ufa's highly expectations and wishes

   Ra'ufa says that her wish while she was blind to see a bride and the wedding party she used to go with her mother to a wedding party and let her mother to describe in details the bride, the dress , the people, everything goes around her, and usually get satisfied with her mother descriptions.

Ambitions

   Ra'ufa Ambitions in life is to graduate from a collage and attend an art center or institution; she also wants to work as a guardian and assistant to the blind meanwhile she is a volunteer at many associations and institutions to help handicapped in rehabilitation institutions. She also holds many certificates and recommendation letters given by different association.
About her opinion of the Palestinian conditions Ra'ufa states that she used to cry hearing the Israeli solders hitting the houses with missiles, killing, and destruction innocent people houses.
Finally Ra'ufa finish the interview by thanking Allah (God) for being so merciful and giving her the chance of seeing as any normal person.
